Phenyl silicone oil is the product of partial methyl group replaced by phenyl group in methyl silicone oil. It is colorless or light yellow transparent oil.Not only the methyl silicone oil can be used in fabric, has an effect on the fabric, the synthetic phenyl silicone oil also has an effect on the fabric.In this paper, several phenyl silicone oils were synthesized, and the comprehensive properties of phenyl silicone oil and silicone rubber system composed of them were tested. The properties of different phenyl silicone oils applied to fabric treatment were studied, and the properties and changes of fabric before and after treatment were analyzed.
Methylphenyl dimethoxysilane with high purity was synthesized from methyltrimethoxysilane.Using the monomer and diphenyl dimethoxy silane as raw materials, after complete co-hydrolysis, hexamethyldisiloxane as the capping agent and trifluoromethanesulfonic acid as the catalyst, the equilibrium condensation of methyl phenyl silicone oil and diphenyl silicone oil with various phenyl molar contents were obtained.
The effects of the change of the molar content of phenyl on the properties of the two types of phenyl silicone oil, such as thermal stability, refractive index and rheological properties, were studied.The results show that the refractive index of diphenyl silicone oil is the highest when the mole fraction of phenyl is 40%, which is 1.5435, and the thermal stability is the best when the mole fraction of phenyl is 30%.
Vinyl capped phenyl silicone oil was prepared by using diphenyl dimethoxy silane and dimethyldimethoxy silane as raw materials and 1, 3-divinyltetramethyldisiloxane as capping agent.Using diphenyldimethoxy silane, dimethyldimethoxy silane, methyldichlorosilane as raw materials and hexamethyldisiloxane as the ending agent, phenyl hydrogen-containing silicone oil was synthesized.
Two components of vinyl capped phenyl silicone oil and phenyl hydrogen containing silicone oil were cross-linked and cured under the action of catalyst to obtain silicone rubber.The transmittance of the film can reach 97.14% under 460nm UV light.It was found that the refractive index of phenyl silicone rubber was positively correlated with the molecular weight of phenyl silicone oil at the vinyl end.
Finally, the mechanical properties, whiteness and fastness of fabrics treated with different phenyl silicone oils were compared and tested before and after treatment.It was found that the tensile strength of fabrics was generally enhanced, but the whiteness decreased slightly after the treatment.The soaping fastness, wet rubbing fastness and sun fastness of the cloth treated with phenyl silicone oil were all improved by one grade.
Methylsilicone oil is used for soft finishing of fabric, increasing the lubricity of fabric, and increasing the smoothness, fullness and elasticity of fabric.However, the tensile strength of the fabric after finishing with phenyl silicone oil is generally enhanced, but the whiteness of the fabric is slightly decreased.The soaping fastness, wet rubbing fastness and sun fastness of color cloth treated with phenyl silicone oil were all improved by one grade.
