Compared with silicone rubber and silicone oil, silicone resin is a less used product in silicone products, accounting for about 10% of silicone products.The total production of silicone in the world is about 90,000 tons, the United States is the largest producer of about 40,000 tons, in addition to domestic consumption of about 7,000 tons a year, the rest of the export.Production in Japan and Western Europe is roughly the same, at about 20,000 tons per year, and mostly for domestic use.It is expected that the global consumption of silicone resin will reach 100,000 tons in 2005.

At present, the domestic existing silicone resin factory nearly 20, nearly 10 of them are professional paint or insulation materials factory.The main products are methyl and phenyl resin based insulating impregnating paint, heat resistant paint, waterproof paint, mica adhesive and so on.Among them, the production scale of large silicon resin device is thousands of tons, and the production scale of small silicon resin device is in hundreds of tons.

Compared with other silicone materials, silicone resin has been relatively stable in the domestic market for a long time. At present, the annual domestic consumption of silicone resin is about 8000 tons, mainly used in the electronic/electrical field.In recent years, China's high-end building exterior wall coating market began to start, among which, silicone modified acrylic coating (silicone acrylic coating) is an important variety.With the rapid development of high-grade building exterior coating in China, the consumption of silicone resin in the field of construction will increase rapidly, and will gradually replace electronics/electrical appliances, become the main application field of silicone resin.The domestic consumption of silicone resin is expected to reach 15,000 tons in 2015.
